Frequently Asked Questions
I hope I can clarify a fe wthings for you here
Truthfully, it’s like asking a car salesman how much a car costs. It depends on the features and functionality you want. That being said, my website projects generally start around the $2000-$2500 range for basic business sites, it can be more or less depending on your needs. Don’t worry, I’ll ask you a lot of questions, assess your needs, and give you a quote based on that assessment.
My standard websites can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks to create. An E-commerce (online store) website will take a little bit longer depending on storefront. This time frame will of course vary from project to project. On average, I shoot for a four to six week turnaround, but the pace of any project is set by each client. How much input you can provide during the initial stages, your availability with feedback, how soon the content is ready – all this affects the speed of completion. The functionality needs may also play a role – more complex sites will take more time to develop.
Sure I will but just be aware that there can be some issues with liability of multiple programmers touching the same code over time, so I will NOT be held responsible for the rest of the website if my updates aren’t compatible but we can discuss that when the time comes.
OF COURSE! Everything that I build will be 100% owned by you. Most of my clients stay with me for the life of their website(s). I guess I’m just irresistible that way. But if for any reason you decide you want to take your site to another developer to service the site, I will happy to assist you in making the transition as effortlessly and efficiently as possible. The website is yours after all, and I want you to take it wherever you go.
When it comes to web design and development, it’s pretty important to work with somone that knows how to get things done. I have a my own process that allows me to work with you at your pace, but also in a manner that I don’t miss a step through the development process. Have a look at my process below to learn more about the steps involved in bringing your website to fruition.
Long story short. A web developer is a programmer who makes websites and apps for the World Wide Web. A web developer builds a website from the bottom up, developing everything from layout to functions and can make almost anything happen on your website.
A web designer will create the logos, graphics, and layout that determine the look and feel of a website. Web designers will use software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create these materials.
Absolutely, although I do enjoy meeting new clients and working personally with them, I will work with clients outside of New Brunswick by e-mail and phone. I’ve worked with people right across Canada and hope to go beyond that. I do have some clients I have never met face-to-face.
I am not in the hosting business however I use a couple of host companies that I highly recommend and I would be pleased to walk you through the setup process on the phone. I ensure that the hosting is in your name so you aren’t tied to one web developer.
A custom website can be a big investment and not all small businesses have the budget for it. I do offer a budget package which will help get you online with a nice looking website fast.
